Programme description
The Early Creators Programme (EC) is part of LCCL Coding Academy's holistic curriculum of empowering our young for the digital future. The EC curriculum is designed to instil creative skillset, mindset and values, through the teaching of code and Computational Thinking activities. This programme aims to produce confident, creative, curious and collaborative learners who are aware of the ubiquity of technology and the creative power of code.
What do students gain?
Values & Mindset
Collaboration, curiosity, creativity, confidence, compassion and responsibility. We believe that the determinant of a child's success and happiness in school, life and their pursuit of Computational Thinking is their attitude toward learning. With the right values and mindset, the learner is bound to succeed regardless of circumstance.
Knowledge & Skillset
Students learn (a) Computing technology in their surrounding world and the way they work (b) Computational thinking and problem solving via physical activities, code, and other pedagogical tools (c) Coding & robots: In their coding activities, children learn to code their own animations, and communicate instructions in a logical manner to make characters behave a certain way. In doing so, they structure their thoughts while creating fun stories and games.
Students who complete this multi-year curriculum and showcase competency in the learning objectives progress to the Coding Fundamentals Programme.
